OUT-OF-AUTOCLAVE PRE-PREG

'Pre-preg' is the common term for carbon fiber fabric that has been pre-impregnated with a resin system at the ideal resin-to-fabric ratio. Because the lamination requires a combination of pressure and heat to cure, pre-preg parts typically require aluminum or steel tooling.

The nature of pre-preg makes for uniform and repeatable parts, particularly for those requiring fine detail or perfect weave alignment. These properties, combined with a rapid cure cycle, make pre-preg lamination an ideal process for high-volume production projects.

Typical applications include aerospace, racing, sporting goods, pressure vessels, and commercial products. Our team can advise you on whether or not pre-preg is appropriate for your project.
