Common Fibers produce the majority of its tooling in-house. With our 4' x 8' router table, CF can fabricate tools and fixtures of any size from high density foam. For project requiring metal tooling, CF works with local machine shops to make reliable composite molds.
For low production projects, tooling is typically made from fiberglass and gelcoat and warrantied for 100 parts. For mid to high production projects, CF will spec aluminum or carbon fiber molds warrantied up to 1,000 parts.
In addition to molds, CF fabricates its own CNC trim fixtures to accurately cut composite parts to tolerances of +/- 0.005".
