American sculptor Janet Echelman enlisted Common Fibers' help to create her first indoor piece for a private collection in Mumbai. The knotted layers of braided nylon are suspended through carbon fiber tubing, each a different shape, designed to give form to the netting. Our engineering team performed load analyses and developed a proprietary lay-up and infusion process to achieve the requirements of this project.
Common Fibers is the exclusive supplier of Fortis Manufacturing's new carbon fiber line of stock covers and grips. This project showcases Common Fibers' ability to produce intricately detailed parts in volume. High tolerances are required to facilitate a flush, snap-on fit to the final product. 4th axis machining, vacuum jigs and fused filament fixtures feature in this process.
